FYI

I just finished putting in my stage 4 clutch and Transmission sleeve kit. It made a world of difference. BUT, i still here a slight chirp, when i barely push the clutch pedal. It is SIGNIFICANTLY QUIETER, though. The annoying chirp when idling is gone. :top:

But, it is very hard to hear over my exhaust. I need to be coasting in neutral to even here it. For a 250 bucks the TSK make one hell of difference for those of us who are out of factory warranty, or sick and F-ing tired of Toyota's BS "fixes".

Im thinking i didn't put enough lube in the center of the throw out bearing... hence the slight squeak. Oh well, just one more thing to do...

Point is, it is a shit ton better than nothing.

mine started to squeek at 25K... i changed the clutch, flywheel, and TOB (oem).. somewhere between 25k & 28k.. there was light damage on the snout.... im now at 48K and it has not returned.... i used water-proof BJ grease and anti seize.. so far still good BUT im hitting that same mark as last time.... so im hopeing that it will not squeek untill i need to change it again... (wishful thinking)

Toyota hasn't released anything to the dealers yet on this. I've had a friend watching for a few weeks now. I'm waiting to get this done on mine.

Factory drivetrain 5/60 and if your still in your new car 3/36 you can get a 100k toyota extended warranty that will cover TSBs and factory repairs. Avoid aftermarket warranties, there horrid to deal with.

that slight squeak when you push in the clutch may be caused by a bent release fork, or a worn out pivot.
It may be putting sideways pressure on the bearing and causing the noise. I am guessing this could be another reason we are seeing so much wear so fast on the stock setup. The stainless sleeve will not wear like the aluminum so you shouldn't have many issues with it.

Yup, i just talked to a few more of my mechanic buddies, they said the same thing. Thanks for the info:top:

And that squeak has returned back to its normal, horrid noise...so its back to normal:thumpdown:

So even with the sleeve your TOB is back to making noise?

See this is what I was worried about.. Sleeve is still squelching. This is bull shit! What happen to the toyota of the 80's? why the hell do we have to deal with this crap. Im at 100,000 miles. a TSB wont help me, even tho theyve replace 2 trans, TO bearing, clutch upgrade peddle, and all the other crap they tried..

toyota started building vehicles in the US and the quality suffered.
If the sleeve isn't working it almost has to be a major alignment issue, and the only fix to that would be a new bellhousing.
I think there is a lot of issues with the trans, and a true, complete fix is going to be a big and expensive. I think this is the reason Toyota has seemed to be dragging their feet on this issue. They are looking for a cheap easy fix, and I just don't think their is one.
T56 swap just looks better and better.

This is also the only sleeve kit install that has any type of noise still coming from it. I've read a few posts on the FJ site and a few from TW and the couple here that have installed the kit and none are reporting any noises after the install.

I haven't read much from toyota owners, but I have read tons of good reviews and success with other cars they offer it for.

Well I'm doing the sleeve kit regardless what (1) person says about it still making noise. If it still doesn't solve the problem then I'll be swapping in the 1GR auto like Sparkys Tacoma did on his XRunner.
If u could figure out why I can't sign onto my YouTube acc I will upload a video of his X as an auto pushing 15 lbs of boost with his TrD blower

How did he end up doing that? Getting a harness and ECU out of an auto and swapping, or was something more involved than that.

I bet it wouldn't be very hard.. find a sport get the ecu and harness and trans, the rest should bolt up and I bet the harness is very similar!

Well apparently with all the parts plus him doing the work it only cost him around $1800

I need to post the vids he sent me of it in action plus the video of him showing the inside of the truck.
