All the parts for the UCON-EMS kits are here and have been here for a while.
Still need to test the cal out in the TRD Supercharger 425 non-reflash.
Need to tweak the acceleration enrichment function. Saw a couple of test trucks with a slight hesitation on shifting. I am able to reproduce that in my XRunner and I hope to finish that tonight.
My plate is very full. Moving URD to a bigger facility and that is taking way more time than I planned for. Guess I was a little ignorant on what would be involved in getting the new space ready.
We are hoping to be able to start taking orders in the first week in March.
Road testing of the V8 version should start then also and the 4 cylinder version will follow. That will cover some of the Scion cars with the same ECU layout as the original 1GR.

Yes, I think we can do that.
Not sure about the calibration file. We would have to convert it from X-1 to UCON and then do a good bit of data logging and tuning to get it dialed in.
It can be done over the Net, but would be quicker and easier if you wanted to take a drive down to URD.

The long cranking was to do with the sync strategy during the start. The early cals used would sync to the cam angle sensors and it would take a few revs before it could start. There was also a problem with them loosing sync while the engine was driving causing like a rapid reboot type effect which resulted in massive bucking while driving. Scott and I worked hard on this with the .04 cals and it was pretty much solved with .04XF. The start up sync strategy was changed from cam sync to an ignitor sync which was much more rapid. This allowed much better starts and greatly reduced the cam driver reset problem while driving.
The UCON uses a completely different startup and sync strategy with logic to completely eliminate the cam driver reset issue. The UCON starts are instant and explosion free.

You get this figured out?
Don't wanna thread jack, maybe i'll start another thread about X1 quirks.
I had too many clinches also w the x1 thats why I sold it. Truck is definetly alot slower being n/a.
I've been trying to diagnose this strange bucking i get going 55mph just cruising. It is a split second buck and only happens randomly. I've tested TPS, changed fuel filter (urd setup), checked vacuum lines, etc... Could this be related to the "Cam sync" issue. I have the TRD supercharger, is the .04xf cals for urd supercharger only?
I call that thumping. My truck would do it if I added throttle to maintain speed up a hill and then eased back out and THUMP. It was like you quickly turned the key off and back on. It can be pretty violent like you hit a curb or something.
If it was a cam sync problem it would repeat several times.
Just one of those quirks with the X-1. The UCON does not do that.

What calibration file are you running?
Is it a .03A or .04XF or the more horrid .05??
G
Well, if it is thumping several times right in a row like that it could be the cam driver reset issue.
Call APR and see if you can get the cal you need in the .04XF calibration family. If so that might fix your problem without having to spend the money on a new UCON. Give it a try, you got nothing to loose.

I just wanted to point out that this is why gadget is the man. He will take his time to help someone else get their problems straightened out, even if it means not making money off someone when he could have. Gadget, you the man
