BBK with Rear Disc Conversion

Can the master cylinder handle running the Stoptech 4 Piston and the SOS Rear Disc conversion? It’s time for rear brakes and I’d rather upgrade if the master with handle it....

I’m pretty sure with ur hydro booster u should be ok matt. I think I remember someone doing it and not having to change anything.

Looks like it’s only another 168.00 to upgrade the master cylinder.
Fluid volume is a bigger concern for me when one uses the tundra calipers on a Tacoma.
The bigger concern for me in a rear conversation was the e- brake and how the kit addresses it.

I can't upgrade the master....I've got VSC and the conversion doesn't play nice with the VSC setup. The e-brake appears to be addressed in the kit.....

That kit is close to what I have you will not need a master cylinder upgrade. The correct pad choice to keep the front and back balanced is all you need to worry about.

Maybe use a master from an SUV with VSC. I've heard bad things about just using the conversion.

Drums are definitely a pain but they work.

Hello there, here are my thoughts about brake system, like any other upgrade If your upgrade or your looking for horse power that means you need a better clutch Kit, also a strong rear end, better suspension, better tires....etc. everything is connected.
It all depends on what your goal is. If you get (Bigger Calipers), they will need more fluid to compensate. It doesn’t matter if you go with rear or front BBK you have to compensate for the amount of fluid that they need, yes can use you factory OEM MC, I use it for a little bit but the brake pedal will travel a lot more in order to get those pots filled with brake fluid.
My personal opinion. I tried different brake set up, now I have Tundra Brake Booster and MC, Lexus 360mm front BBK and 345mm rear disk conversion Lexus rotors, Camry floating calipers and Lexus 2 pistons e-brake fixed caliper. The ABS works as is supposed to be. I don’t have VSC but that is a system that’s controlled by the ecu, just like the ABS is controlled by wheel sensors and other systems.
Again my personal opinion, If you upgrade to bigger brakes that will not change your ABS or VSC system.

VSC is a system that helps prevent side skids and help stabilize the vehicle while turning on a curve. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) report, vehicles equipped with VSC compared to those without can effectively reduce single-vehicle accidents by 35% for automobiles and 67% for Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV).

When the vehicle senses a loss of traction or a slip, braking is automatically applied to all 4 individual wheels and engine power is reduced to help secure the safety of the vehicle. For example, if the steering wheel refuses to turn from over-speeding (under-steering), the vehicle will take control to steer toward the inner curve. Also, when the vehicle begins to spin from abrupt steering handling (over-steering), the vehicle will take control to steer toward the outer curve

I just did the rear disk conversion and it has improved the truck stopping power. It works fine with stock master. I have the upgraded master I'll be installing soon as well. It too should work with vsc as our master doesn't have a controller integrated to the master for vsc.
