no doubt that toyotas last a long time and that 200k miles is no big deal, but as far as the xr's go, i dont think we drive them as much as we do our other vehicles. some even become garage queens lol...

just curious as to how many here have over 200k or more miles on theirs. thought this would be fun and also see what/when there were any issues. post up even if you dont have yours anymore.

year/color
how long you have owned it
how many starting miles
current miles
any mods
any issues
how long do you plan on keeping it
if you got rid of it, why?
why you love the xr
add any other final comments

post up pics too...

as for me:

2005 swb

not sure exactly when i bought it, but we traded in a 2005 bmw z4 for it, so im guessing around 2007-08.

i think it had around 32k when i got it for my wifes dd

has over 220k and is my dd after i bought my wife a new 2014 grabber blue mustang lol

no mods other than a stereo

only issues - alternator just over 200k and drive shaft bearing at about 210k.
oh and oem lug nuts just yesterday (see my other new thread lol)

plan on keeping it till it dies lol

love the styling because of my roots in the mini-truck craze back in the late 80's early 90's. love the toyota reliability. really fun to drive...

final thoughts: ive got too many project cars, but if anything happens to this one, i wouldnt hesistate to buy another. if i was rich id have it as a street machine with a tt 2jzgte 6spd out of a supra haha...

I haven't broke 100k miles yet. I'm never home. I wish I could drive my X-Runner that much. It's my only car, I drive it as much as I can. I envy anybody who has gotten to drive their truck that much.

year/color: 2006 SWB (2nd xrunner)
how long you have owned it: roughly 2years
how many starting miles: 240k (2016) - Sold at around 260k (2018)
current miles: 280+ counting with current owner w/ new frame

any mods:
DJM 3/4, then went with 3" block
Qa1
black interior
URD SS (redline MT-90 fluid)
throttle body spacer - shift & giggles got its for $20 (y not ef it lol)
under seat kenwood amplified sub KSC-SW11
Ultrgauge
K&N intake
Aero turbine exhasut
Enkei 18 RZ5
lots of other misc mods

any issues:
both knock sensor/harness - was eaten

02 sensor - just the down stream
alternator (original alt)@ 259k

how long do you plan on keeping it: was going to keep it forever
if you got rid of it, why? Needed a 4x4 for winter, Had to daily it even during winter w/snow tires lol

why you love the xr:
always been a fan of sport trucks. When this came it out, i knew i had to get my hands on it. Styling /performance/ not too much extra tech materials on it (perfect) just bare truck and convenient essentials

add any other final comments:
When i 1st saw this SWB i knew i had to take it home. She was in very rough condt as in i had to take a shower n throw out my clothes when i drove her home. I knew she came with loads of issues/work. batt died/needed new keys/etc. Previous owner used it as a work truck traded it in w/o cleaning it. there were some plasters everywhere in the interior/bed. Interior was very dusty and filthy. Even though she looked that bad i still wanted to take her home and bring her back. The drive home was 1hr+ and she drove very smoothly w/o any hiccups. I never hesitated taking her in long trips even with those miles, Never let me down not once!. I live in PA and drove to Pittsburg, Pa (4hrs+ one way from my area) back n forth that one day just to pick up parts from a member here who parted out with their X , as well as picked up parts for members who lived in NJ who also bought parts from the same seller member. i drove NJ/PA back and forth all the time with this truck and even until now id buy that same truck back if i had the cash/space lol. Truck even made it to Xfest 2017 ( i think thats the right year lol)

The next time i find another XR with high miles that needs fixing i def wouldnt hesitate to buy it

my pops has an 06 4runner original owner that he passed on to sis then sis returned it to pops. Now has about 211k and counting. Original alternator, original trans/diff fluid lmao!!! at this point i shouldnt even touch it. Pops was bz that even original spark plugs was replaced at 200k and no cel ever came on. regular oil change was always done. Only thing ive replaced was a busted radiator (@ around 200k) belts, struts/shocks (@ about 209K, i used the original springs too lmao), battery. Truck still runs great except the hole on the exhaust hahaha but i still use it from time to time to go back n forth PA/NJ

wow, hopefully this will hold up for years to come.
this is the first vehicle ive had over 150k i believe...so not used to having something last so long. dont ask me about my rx7's lol

i forgot, but a couple months back i did have to buy a new battery and the sales guys says "not bad, you got over 7yrs out of a 2yr battery".
not counting tires, brakes, batteries, etc cause thats just regular maintenance stuff. so only the 2nd battery ive bought for it...

I had a '94 Celica St... slapped a turbo on that 7A-FE at 130K and had 237 on it when it stolen. I was a little baby boy then. Yup, I may cry...

I put around 60000 miles on it. I did have regrets 3 moths later after I traded it. I drove 2200 miles one way to trade my Chevy truck for the X-R at the Toyota dealer.

I love my truck. There are maybe 5 like it around here and I rarely see them. It's one of kind. Everyone that I know who has sold their truck regrets it seems like.

That is why I drove that far to get another one. Not to many around my area. I have seen a blue, red and I think there may be a black one around.

I haven't checked in a while but I think I'm up over 230K now. Daily drove it for 215K up until 2019, and now she's just a toy.

Mine's a garage queen now. I have a 91 Toyota as my daily, but it was down, and I knew of the X's since they came out, so I started looking for one. Mine is a 2011, black. With only three colors, that's the only one I wanted. I bought it brand new in early 2012. Mods- short shifter, super charger, BBK, sway bars, clear cab brake light. I had to use it as a daily for a couple months until I got the 91 back on the road. Now it has 22,400 on it. I don't want to get it out in the winter crap so it sits up on jack stands in the garage during the winter. The 91 is back on the road but dyeing again. 492,000 on that one. Bought it new as well. I'll keep dumping oil and water in it, because of a down turn it life, I can't fix it, so I won't have to daily the X.

Oh, also have Coupe's custom deep oil pan. I was planning on flying through some mountain roads, and from all the information I got over the years on this sight, seems oil starvation was a problem. I bought it for piece of mind. With shit in life, I couldn't afford a luxury like that now.
