I haven’t had my x since 2014. I still jump on here from time to time. It’s sad seeing how forums are dying off in favor of social media. This place was so active a decade ago.
After the X, I had an 08 ram for about 8 years, actually recently sold it because I never drive it. Only had 50k...
Lol alright man. My head is in the sand? You want an example of a Rotrex with over 60k miles? It doesn’t exist? MY truck that I owned had a c30 on it for 75k miles until I upgraded to the c38. So there is one example for you. But apparently my head is in the sand. Did you forget I owned one...
I get that you’re frustrated. But saying that every one out there is going to prematurely fail because you had an issue just isn’t true.
Yes the traction fluid is expensive. That’s part of the game. Boosting your truck in general is expensive.
Product shortages are a thing and have been for a...
How many units did you have fail? I’m guessing you were using the Rotrex traction fluid?
What did the vendor say when you reference “they even made comments to the fact they know of the issue”?
Have you called and talked to them yet to see if there is anything they can do to help? I haven’t...
Basically, the throwout bearings suck, the synchros suck, and the gearing is absolutely horrendous lol. I would try the accumulator removal if I still had my truck.
I was reading through this thread and it blew my mind when you said that they told you it’s a head gasket lol. Absolutely not a head gasket issue. I swear some places, you could go in with a creaky clutch pedal and they’ll tell you your head gasket is blown.
Mine had an excessive crank from...
Im being a bit off topic, but that’s cool to see something from UMI on here. A friend of mine is building an old Malibu and bought a bunch of suspension parts from them. 3 of us rode out to their shop in philipsburg PA to pick up the parts, and we ended up spending the whole day there. They gave...
A brand new trans would do the same thing, it’s just a matter of time. Plus by the time you paid for a brand new Toyota trans, you might as well do the t56.
The way I interpreted it he was saying 6k for the t56 and gear swap.
Nope I don’t. What I do know is that pretty much everyone I’ve seen on this forum have them rebuilt has ended up in the same boat within a few months. Not saying it’s impossible to have a good one, just very unlikely. There’s too many inherent design problems with that transmission.
