How many miles your S/C taco have?

I'm running Spec-U front to back as well, did you get the new part from URD to eliminate the nasty rasp-zing noise? I think the last time I used a syringe it took a hair under 5 oz back in likely due to maybe not getting all the old oil out? It's been awhile since I used that method, past two...

How many miles your S/C taco have?

Running my TRD on a 2005 4x4 at 194K now, had it and the 2.85" pulley put on in 2008 at 55K. I had the blower re-built at 170K, do snout oil changes every 30K. I am also running the 7th injector, upgraded fuel pump, UCON EMS, full headers and exhaust, TRD CAI. It's a work truck for the most...

Never have owned an X but still roll my SC'd Tacoma so the info is really worth having around. Donated.

    Transmission trouble - upgrade?

Thanks for this, my truck now has 190,000 on it, 135 with the SC so it is getting tired and I want to budget for this. I pretty much keep a pop up camper on it full time so it has seen some *hard* miles including a ton off road. I'm happy to say I am not hammering on it as much as I used...

What are all the latest and greatest mods for TRD SC?

Well that would sure work for me, any pointers on what resonator?

What are all the latest and greatest mods for TRD SC?

Other than maintaining reliability in what I have, which is pretty burly, I am probably going to eventually swap out the raspy y pipe from my Spec-U exhaust. I have 190K on this truck now so I’ll be easing off on the boost in terms of how I drive it. Hard to believe it has had the SC for 135K...

Sources for used 1GR motors needed...

Thanks Gadget, I'll do that. Mods, I put this thread in the wrong section, could we move it to F/I? Also, for kicks I pulled all the plugs ( IKH24 ) on the passenger side which is where the codes were thrown and coil went bad, the gaps are all fine at about .032. But on cylinder #1 which is...

Sources for used 1GR motors needed...

I will definitely work with my mechanic on sorting things out on our end, compression check, any electrical demons and even taking the UCON off for a test. I would love to get a line on motors too, this is a work truck so I need to get a handle on all aspects of getting it running.

Sources for used 1GR motors needed...

Hi gang, Been awhile, but that's life eh? Anyway, I think my motor might be fried in the worst case, maybe a bad ring, bent valve, cracked head, etc. Looks like with the new format on the forum, all my info is gone so here goes: 2005 Tacoma 4WD, 182K, TRD S/C, red URD pulley, 7th injector...

    Sensors

Any tips or tricks to getting the front ones unplugged? I have tried from underneath & the wheel well and can't seem to get a good angle on the place I need to slip the screwdriver in. I sure wish these were pinch clips that did not need a screwdriver.

URD MAP-ECU3 Fuel & Ignition Control + Type E Plug & Play Harness

MapECU-3 is sold, plug and play harness and rear O2 sim are still available. As you can see, the MAPECU-3 harnesses have been removed, 4 leads were crimp spliced in, 1 on the right hand bundle, 3 on the left hand. Then 7 leads were cut into in order to connect the MAPECU to the stock 05+ Tacoma...

    URD Spec-U exhaust supercharged application

Some years back I found it pretty easy to get frustrated at the whole aftermarket niche in the beginning, but I learned to be patient, you will do better if you do too. Free info costs either way and the good tips take time to roll in, folks have other things to do. And no matter how solid the...

Spec U Headers Installed...need more power

I think a good bit of these flex couplings have some bulge by design for a little articulation, you can see it in the product photo on URD's site. On another note I am out in Utah for a few days and the little snug up on the coupling by way of a hose clamp seems to have clamped down on the noise...

Spec U Headers Installed...need more power

He was not sure either... I checked the bolts, all good. I then fired up the truck and tried to listen for the noise, found it right away, it's the flex coupling between the smaller muffler and the downstream end of the Y-pipe. Had my wife do a couple revs and it confirmed it. So that...

Spec U Headers Installed...need more power

My tech and I spent an hour both driving, revving and re-tightening and found nada. Wife does not like the rasp, small rodents molest sleeping cats via the rasp. Be gone oh rasssss-ph! I think it is a product of lopping off an end of the "tuning fork", sure is wicked either way.
