Changing from 2.55 back to 2.7 pulley

Already checked tension, and belt size is correct. It did this from day one of my original swap from 2.7 to 2.55. IMO it seems like it just doesn’t have enough wrap for the skinny belt . When this first happened, I checked all that stuff trying to figure out why it did that, and ended up just...

Changing from 2.55 back to 2.7 pulley

Hi all, I’ve had a 2.55 stealth pulley on my X since I put everything together a few years ago, and have decided to go back to the 2.7. The 2.55 belt slips when it’s jumped on, and I never had that issue when I had a 2.7 pulley on it. Has anyone else experienced that with a 2.55?

Engine problem first drive of the year [FIXED]

FYI to anyone with similar issue: This was fixed with a simple change of plugs. I put about 130 miles on the truck today and it didn’t skip a beat, ran flawlessly and 100% up to 10psi boost. A big thanks to @gearhead899 for posting up in reply. To anyone who may find this as interesting as I...

Engine problem first drive of the year [FIXED]

So today I had the chance to go over it a bit. Visual inspection appeared ok, nothing loose, and no obvious signs of any wires bitten through by a critter. The analyzer showed a pending cylinder #1 misfire, all else clear. I cleared the code, started it up and took a look at live data...

Engine problem first drive of the year [FIXED]

Thanks for the info, I’ll be sure to keep an eye on that. At least now I’ll have a good reason to try out my new scanner. I bought this about a year ago and never had a good enough reason to use it until now

Engine problem first drive of the year [FIXED]

Thanks for your reply. I plan to start with a thorough visual inspection, followed by a scan to check history/live data, and then go from there. If nothing happens in the driveway I’ll go for a test drive with the analyzer hooked up and see if it re-occurs (I’m really hoping it does so I can get...

Engine problem first drive of the year [FIXED]

Hi folks, I’ve been away from the forum for quite a while, life generally getting in the way of things, but today I decided to take the wife for a drive in the xrunner to her favorite vineyard. Believe it or not, this was the very first time I’ve driven it this year, other than a warm up around...

X’s sold better in southern states. Up north, everyone buys a 4wd, even if it’s never used.

I only got the chance to drive my truck once this year, and that was to warm the oil up before the yearly oil change. I’m still hoping for another warm day so I could take the wife down to Valenzano in Shamong for a relaxing day.

    First ride since last fall

Took the X out for a drive today, perfect weather, mid 70’s. The truck went very well, brought it up to 10 psi on the highway for a short burst. I’ll say I miss driving the X, daily driver is a Lexus es350, driving habits with that are hyper-mile slow (aka boring). My other toy blew it’s clutch...

1997 Supra on Hemmings auction site

I still consider the RX7 the best sports car I ever owned. I held an EMRA time trial FTD record with it at the Pocono North Course, and I was able to pull Viper GTS’s out of corners with it routinely after I learned to keep RPM’s over 4500 coming out of apex’s so I had both turbos pumping. If I...

1997 Supra on Hemmings auction site

When I was in the market for an SCCA track car back in ‘95 the Supra was definitely on the radar. I ended up buying a “left over” brand new twin turbo ‘94 RX-7 R2. Not too many guys were tracking the Supras at the time due to weight. I agree it’s an awesome car, and it’s a shame Japan has not...

    New Nissan Z

The twin turbo V6 sounds promising, but I refuse to set myself up to be disappointed yet again. I’m expecting just another heavy GT.

    New Nissan Z

That sounds pretty good. If they can get the weight down to about 2800 I’d consider one myself

Lol an underpowered overweight antique, no thanks

    New Nissan Z

It looks kinda close to a 240, but honestly I’m still waiting for a real lightweight sportscar out of Japan
