anyone have issues with their paint?

so while at the car wash this weekend i noticed the paint bubbling in a 2" area on the roof.

kinda surprised me because up till now, ive had no issues. anyone have/had problems?

I have issues with my BRM peeling off in certain areas. Mostly on the inside of the door jambs and on the fender walls where the hood sits. I emailed Toyota multiple times, but only got the answer that it was out of warranty so they couldn't help me with it.

I haven't heard of any issues with SWB though.

thanks for the info. no way they would warranty it. was just curious if this may be a common issue or maybe on certain colors?

Roof Paint

Last week I noticed that my roof still looked wet from a distance. Kinda like dew on the roof, but it was in the middle of the day. When I got closer too check it out, I found this: Tine to get the roof surface rust ground off and re-sprayed. :thumbdown:

My roof paint is starting to lose some of the clear. It's an `08 and I live in Arizona. That's not bad really. I wouldn't mind having the roof & the hood repainted some day..

From seeing posts on here and Facebook X runner page, it's a common problem. Especially those left outside. Top of cab and hood peel and fade. Lots of guys sanding down the top of cab and repainting or doing some kind of coating.

Paint issues are very common with these trucks. The radiant red trucks turn pink on the bumpers,plastics, trim etc. Almost all the colors have issue with clear coat fading, pealing and so forth. Toyotas are not really known for their great paint jobs

I guess color and previous care are big factors. My 08 speedway blue has bad clear coat delamination on the hood and roof, but my 06 beige Sienna has a deep gloss, like new... and its an Arizona car...

It's time to get my hood painted. It's got rock chips and some peeling. I'm going to take it to the paint shop see how much.

I took my 08 RR to the paint shop. They want $600 to do the hood. He says that they are going to strip it down to the metal and repaint it. I'm going to do it. I love you my X. It's pretty clean except for the hood.

My 11 has spent it's live in the garage, so not problems. I bought an 05 two years ago not knowing it's history. It's my daily now so sits outside all of the time. Still looks good, no issues with the hood or roof. Luck of the draw for me, I guess.
