Cleaning roof

So I want to get a tonneau cover and I like the hardtops but how do you get to the top when cleaning and waxing. I figure cleaning could be done with one of those soft brushes that looks like a push broom. But the big thing is how do you reach the hood when waxing. Im not the tallest guy, 5'8, so I have to get in the bed to wash the roof.

I had thought about this but I didnt want to drip soapy water all over my interior. I guess you would have to be super careful not to get any in there.:hmmmm2:

I have a step stool like you would use in the kitchen to get to the top cabinets. Strong plastic....made by Rubbermaid. I use it to get the Roof and Tonneau. Definitely comes in handy when washing the Tundra as well....:biggrin:

I'm only 5 9 and I can reach everything... like RossK35 said, I just open the main and rear doors and just stand on the door sill and I can get the whole roof. For the tonneau, I can reach everything from the ground.

stand inside the cab...but for me i'm only 5' 6"...so i just use a step ladder...that way no drips inside the cab or the interior...and it only take a second to move it out of the way...

Word if not like what Ross said open the doors or use a 3 stage foot stool....

get a one of those cheap 3 foot step ladders or one of these platform ladders they use for painting http://www.wernerladder.com/newprods/workplatform.php

Lowes or home depot sell them for $40

+1 on the 3 foot step ladder w/platform. Just be careful not to lean on the roof to hard or edge of roof the metal is very thin. :biggrin:
