since ill be taking off the oil pan, i might as well up grade the oil pump right? what is a good option for this? in other words whats the best oil pump i can get. thanks guys

I do not know of any oil pump upgrades. I know the stock one will put out over 80 psi when the engine is cold.

If anyone is considering if this is worth it...just re-read some of the blown motor horror stories others have experienced from oil starvation.

If You even are considering doing any kind of racing, track abuse, canyon runs or drifting, this part makes the all the difference. Added capacity means oil temps can be kept in check esp when partnered with a oil cooler. the aluminum fins on the bottom really help dissipate heat. And most importantantly, the baffles prevent high g oil starvation.

You can either pay $1000 now, and the peice of mind knowing that your motor can get all the lubrication it needs....or $2500-$7,000 to have a new motor installed when she starts knocking...the decision is yours.

My coupe pan is up there with my quick steer knuckles and hydro brake, in terms of most important/key mods.

Seriously aluminum pan, finned at the bottom, and holds extra oil its a win win

I just bought a used sparco seat of some random guy on CL...he started going on about my X, mentioned how his buddy had RR XR but the motor blew for no reason, so he sold it.....:rolleyez:

I said, "dont tell me, it started knocking after he took a turn hard or did donuts, no?" The look on this guys face was priceless. :laugh: "yup, my buddy took a of ramp kinda fast, as about half way through, it started knocking..." "And the oil level was between the dots, not low or high?"..same look on his face, "right at the half way point"...

He was out $5k for a motor swap, so he sold the truck....Im not even BSing, not even 4 hours ago did i meet this guy. These factory oil pans are a joke...:thumbdown:

...Billy never checked the oil on his truck for thousands of miles....this guy name was something with a j. .Jimmy...john...Jacob...I don't recall...point is, OEM oil pans are too damn small.
