Aw that blows... Is it cuz it sits back to far?

Wait let me clarify. I know it won't fit on the 4r pan. I would convert it over . I already have a complete 1GR from a taco. So I would just put that lower part on then the pan.

No, you have the 4x4 oil pan. Coupe's fits the 2x4.

Yours is pretty deep in comparison to the 2x4 so you are in pretty good shape over the XRunner folks.

????? If he switches over the upper oil pan and the lower would of course be the coupe. I'm pretty sure that's what he just asked... lol. I can easily see it fitting just by the placement of the current one. Just food for thought. If we can fit a 4x4 pan. They can fit our slim xrunner pan...

Theres no point. The 4x4 pan is good as is. If you want to change that area go for a dry sump setup, thats a true upgrade.

These last few posts really crack me up. To point out who a "smart one" is, doesn't always equate to the intended purpose. o_O

If the upper oil pan is swapped, yes, then you can mount the Coupe pan to the 2x4 pan.

If you are truly adamant about having that bad boy of a pan on your engine, then go for it. But let it be known, that the 4x4 oil pan set is not known for spinning rod bearings like the XR oil pan. The 4x4 pan even works very well off road at at strange angles. O_O

The one thing that makes it worth it to me, it that it would be similarly deep as the 4x4 pan, but more capacity.

How many 4x4 guys do what we do? Whitebeauty blew his up doing autox didn't he? The 4x4 pan works wonders off road of course! That's why they engineered it for that purpose. I highly doubt they took into consideration what a sport car does. :top: lol

I don't know how his blew up.

I do know that the 4x4 lower oil pan is deep, and the sump sits deep in it. Unlike the XR lower pan. Where the sump sits in the shallow half and not the deep half.

I do know that I have road coursed my 4x4 pan, and so has 1GRracer. He autocrosses his regularly as well as road course races it. The nature of the design is just better.

I know of plenty of 4x4 people who jump and race their trucks off road, climb steep angled inclines, with the factory 4x4 lower pan, and have not the issue.

I know of people doing donuts, going fast on "clover" overpasses, and doing simple shenanigansm whom have had their bearings starved with oil because of the factory XR style lower oil pan.

Recalls due to that issue are ridiculous. Not from the factory 4x4 lower pan.

Therefore, at this point we can all agree that the Coupe pan is better pan, but not necessary for the replacement of the 4x4 pans, unless a person just wants to. As for the replacement of the XR lower oil pan, it is at least a necessity to get the oil pan spacer from Coupe, if not get complete CNC'd pan.
