IMO it's not very aesthetically pleasing but what are the specs on it. That'd really be the deciding factor.

Alpine although look flashy aren't really that great... imo. Pioneer has better sound processing and other good features. Particularly the premier 880 prs =)

I would go with a Clarion or Kenwood head unit. As always if you want the best, stay away from retail stores. Not that their product are complete crap, but they won't as much of a profit on a quality piece of equipment as the would a cheaper version. Set a goal, shop smart and you'll have exactly what you need.

My quarrel with all the Navi units out is the lack of Audiophile controls - the parametric equalizers are weak or non-existant - for 1-2 grand I expect more.

Not to mention for 1-2 grand I can make my own in truck computer with cameras, wireless internet, a 100 gig + music library, GPS, DVD, OBDII reading capabilities, tuning center, etc....

I'd go with the Pioneer head unit. Alpine doesn't have the sound quality they used to unfortunately. What Polk subwoofer do you have?

That's a good price you got it for. Usually they around $100 new. Nice thing is that sub doesn't require a lot of air space.
