I've already asked him if he could do a write up or post the info needed to make this swap happen. I'm getting old and shifting is slowing me down to the point where I'm barely moving!

I'll contact him and see if he wants to pass the info. I KNOW he doesn't like XRU from what I've read in the past. Maybe he will post on CT?

John sent me the video last week and it is incredibly quick shifting Steve.

But I'm still laughing at the "water proof BJ grease" on page 3...any link? LOL

An auto x would be FUN to drive. IDK about not shifting.. Hell I like the idea of not having to!

Just B/C u cant shift faster than an auto doesnt mean an auto would run faster... I dont want an auto sports truck. Altough it would be cool to see one.

BTW

I used the supplied grease. It was whisper quite for about 50 miles, and now its back to its usual shit. Now it sqeaks regardless of being cold, warm or hot.

Im over all this bull shit, there is no good reason for why we put up for this...I hate automatics, thats part of the reason why i got a XR instead of a TRD Pre-Runner, all i could find were auto's...But now i look back on that...and i feel incredibly stupid...:argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh:

Im curious to what happens when we get a larger sample of you guys running the TSK, so i can see if it was my dumb ass, or if we all are SOL...:dontknow:

you can get sports cars like corvettes as a auto. I would gladly take on someone with 50-75 more hp in my truck as a auto vs that more powerful truck as a stick. Each thier own, but if you do a valve body upgrade, and figure out how to ensure you can hold the gear to say 6300rpm without it shifting, your in there.

Also yes you shift slower than a automatic you will not win... shifting is where you loose your time with a stick. now a auto correctly build is priceless and WAY more consistent!!:top:

Exactly Steve^^^^. some just don't understand how an auto can be so much better then a stick.

I'll give u (1) instance where an auto ISN'T better then a manual............drifting!

the consistency of the auto would be awesome for running at the strip. Put a little higher stall converter in there, throw on some drag radials and have some fun.
I think you are just getting too old. Lazy driving without having to worry about shifting. :rolleyez:

I agree, HOWEVER... with a hand brake(which is what most drifters use) it doesnt matter if you can lock it into 2nd (for example) and nail it, auto SHOULD be more predictable.

Get to a autocross.. do it even if its raining.. the more you push your truck the better you will feel! I can honestly say that if I hadnt raced mine so many times, learned the truck etc, I would have probably wrecked it by now.. Autocross really helps you learn car/truck control!!

I do want to try this one day, i know my truck pretty well, but i just have that nervousness of looking like an ass and well crashing really isnt going to happen unless you panic or something. I seen one kid driving his dads miata and first time driver put it over a big hill into a pond at the casino here we have this too. Most miatas, hondas, suberus ect. some corvettes but they are out of control the muscle cars.

I will give you the best advise many people told me at autocross.... SLOW DOWN TO GO FASTER!!

The more I slide my truck in controlled environments the better I seem to handle the fish tail around a on ramp, deer jumping out in front of me on wet roads, the ice, ect.. it really help.. DOnt worry noone was born a perfect autocrosser, driver whatever..just go have fun!

My service adviser is asking that I wait for the rumored new TOB. 5yr warranty is up this month but she assures me that I will not be left high and dry. I think it'd be in my best interest to get that statement in writing. This makes the 3rd bad TOB and I'd like to see more than it replaced.

Hey guys, we're sliding a bit off topic here, we were talking about a TOB TSB. Let's try to get back on track.

they cant leave you high and dry since its been put in their system that you have a bad TOB but bellieve me they will try i have 77,000 on mine and i stated the problem to them back at 40,000 so even tho im out of warranty it still gets done since it was an existing issue
