The non weighted ones are about 4.5 oz.

I used to make the weighted ones and they were about 12~14 oz.

The weighted ones will make shifting a little easier. It will also help quiet down a noisy shifter.

The weighted ones I made had a lead core. In some of the areas that see a great temperature change, you might crack the plastic resin. I had a few come back with cracks.

I have had a weighted shift knob my truck for years with no problems.

Since, I had a few come back, I have not made any weighted shift balls.

None of the new ones are weighted.

I might have a Canuck or a Cajun shift ball left that is weighted.
