I think there may be a difference in the relief valve PSI between the regular and taller filters. Although I don't know enough about it to know whether it makes any difference.

According to Purolator, the stock filter has a Relief Valve PSI of 12-15. The taller filter has a Relief Valve PSI of 8-16. So the taller filter has a wider ranger (goes much lower) but covers the stock range...

Thats cool n all but correct me if im wrong. Bypass would be if the filter is soiled completly till no filtration is achieved n now the oil is just circulating right?. If so believe u me , n im sure others of us on here, there will be an oil change before that happens.

Sweet thanks for the info

No problem.

If it's not too much trouble for you, I think it would be cool to list all the collected tall filter part numbers on your original post.

That way others don't have to go through all the pages and possibly skip a part number.

Kinda like the regular oil filter thread.

From the tests I've got linked in one of my threads Toyota OEM oil filters have 50% more the filter media in them than all other brands even the ones that are twice the price.

I'd like to see if the OEM Toyota filter still has more filter media then any of the TALL filters. If the Yota filters still had more..........that would be crazy
