Used OEM OIL cooler on EBAY

Found this used Toyota 1GRFE Oem Oil cooler on Ebay on the cheap and thought I would share:top:. Make sure to ask for the 2 hoses/clamps coming from oil cooler to T-stat housing, and T-stat housing from that motor also.

I was poking around and you can seemingly get aftermarket kits for around $70. Is there an advantage to the OEM one? Also, it seems this came with the towing package? Any reason to have one if you're not towing?

Cooler oil is always an advantage. Just helps it protect your engine better. The advantage to the oem one is that there is no radiator you need to install out front and you don't have to run any oil lines to and from it. The oem one uses the engine coolant to keep the engine oil cooler. And in the winter time it will also help the engine oil heat up faster, but then stabilize it at a steady temperature.

Will the tstat work with the URD 180 degree thermostat?

The t-stat housing for the OEM oil cooler is the same between models with or without the oil cooler package. Except, like autobodyx mentioned. The housing for the oil cooler has ports for coolant lines, pre-installed. The OEM t-stat and URD 170* t-stat will fit just the same in either housing.

I talked to the guy and this was his response:

"Sorry, it does not come with the thermostat housing.The thermostat housing assembly is still intact with it's various hoses and tubes.There is a metal tube the goes from the back of the thermostat housing,under the intake manifold to an aluminum crossover that mounts to the rear of each head. All of the engine mounted cooling parts appear undamaged,except for a sensor on the rear crossover.I've attached pics of the parts.Let me know exactly what you need and I'll give you our best price."

The pictures show lines running to the BACK of the engine where there are ports that attach to each head. Do we have those ports on our tacos? Either way, this guy seems to want me to buy everything separately.

Here is the thermostat housing for the oil cooler.

Here is one for the non OEM oil cooled setup. Look closely and you will notice that the ports for the hoses are not there.

That should help to clarify.

Yeah, so that one being from a tundra isn't the same setup as ours. They have it going back to ports on the rear of the heads.

If it's a 1gr the thermostat housing won't be any different. The guy is an idiot. Yes there is a crossover pipe that runs between the heads but it does not connect to the thermostat housing
