Still got mine. Recently just changed out the whole steering and suspension system and rebuilt the driveshaft.
I'm in the process of tracking down some noises/rattles and fixing the trim/body clips.
Tossing around the idea of a DIY paint job. My clearcoat is gone on the roof and nearly all gone on the hood, got bare metal showing there. Debating between plastidip, paint, or bed liner.
Got a leaf spring bushing kit from energy suspension. Was trying to track down some partnumbers for new leafs. Heard there was a year/model of one of the 4x4s thats a 3+1 leaf pack that works well on the X, and gives like a 1inch drop. Haven't figured out which leafs to get though.

Please dont bedliner the body. Have it painted or if you want a cheap DIY, just plastidip it for now. Atleast that can be removed easily

Yeah I've heard bedliner is really difficult to remove. I love the idea of plastidip but I'm just not sure how well it will hold up to texas heat and road debris.

Honestly, I'd love to do a rat rod style rust bucket patina look but I dunno how well that would work with the plastic trim pieces. Would have to be like a faux finish or something. If I have the truck for another 50k miles then I may look further into that. I think an X-Runner rat rod would be sweet.

Plastidip holds up ok but not great. Iv found that it works good for some interior trim pieces that dont get a lot of wear or touched heavily. A ratrod finish wouldnt be my choice but to each their own. If you do go that route, plastidip might be the way to go because it can br removed and you can layer different colors and stuff to get the efffect you want
