I didn't know you could buy just the 3rd member case new like that.
And it looks like the catalog answered my question about the ratios. According to that page, 3.58 gears will fit and set up properly in the X-Runner 3rd member carrier.
Edit: The above is WRONG. There are 13 pinion teeth on both the 3.15 and 3.31 ratio, and ring gear thickness for both is the same, so there's no fitment issues with these 2 ratios in the XR housing. The other ratios need the Prerunner 3rd member for them to work.
A whole 3rd member swap still works just fine. This edited portion is for those who try putting just the 3.58 gears in the XR 3rd member. It won't work that way.
