Turn the bass on the HU all the way down and the treble all the way up and just tinker with the sub controls on the HU and amp til it sound how you want. That's what I did for mine and it sounds like I have aftermarket highs. I have the same amp but with a jlw6v2 and it sounds awesome. Make sure not to have the input gain too high cuz it will sound like crap or you can blow the sub.

Oh ok, i'll take a look at it. i had some professionals do the wiring and i guess they thought i wanted the bass turned up all the way? idk, but i think it sounds like crap. i've got alpine type R components so it should sound good. i just gotta tinker with it i think..

And most aftermarket HUs have a "loud" setting which will make it sound better once you turn it up.

If you have a 3G or 3GS version then you can get a screen off of eBay for less than $10 and install it yourself. I've done this and it worked perfectly. Search for "3G screen digitizer" and choose which one you want. And you can YouTube a video that shows you how to swap the screen.

You prolly shoulda went with a 4 gauge wiring kit instead if 8 just to make sure you have enough power going to your amp.
