Personally I like the URD it looks nice, doesn't hang down real low and seems to work very well from people's experience. And it's good to support one of our vendors.

The Calvert one costs less. Depending on how much a new bearing runs me I may be strapped for cash. Maybe not. Though. I want the best one for me to romp the skinny pedal with. Even from a dig against a Honda!

I also have the cal tracs and I installed 3" drop leafs. It's a good combo however might be a little much for daily driving.

OK, cool. U-Joint. Just could not wrap my head around what a snapped carrier bearing would look like.

Well, if you want to stop axle wrap a traction bar would be the way to go.

Not sure that is what cause that joint to fail.

If you want a very nice traction bar for your truck let me know.

What do you think caused it? It snapped from a dig, and all the symptoms talked about I had

Did you not hear it squeaking or clunking before it broke? I see a lot of rust.

Must be the only rusty thing on the truck... Yes I heard some clunking. Was planning to get a trac bar later. I can still find the sticker on my drive shaft and tranny, so idk if its just the ujoint, but nothing else on my truck is rusted

If you heard clunking, the joint had failed before you snapped it in half....

So what can prevent it? Do I need the trac bar for that? What can I do to keep the next one working? Also whhat would cause failure?

Mileage, poor drive shaft angle.....how many miles do you have on the truck? Have your u-joints ever been replaced?

Theres 3 total on the drive shaft. They way the rear was lowered may have put more stress on it. How long (miles/years) has it been lowered?

I had my u joints replaced around 90000 miles.
