I am going to stay short on this one. I went with the HTC EVO and the only complain is the battery. Everything on this phone rocks.

I Like the iPhones OS, but they promise way to much. The 3GS if I am not mistaken was supposed to have multitasking and it never did.

Also I highly doubt Apple has more money than Google LOL

You've got to be joking! Do you realize how many people use Apple computers that actually have technical skills?

How many MAC users spec out and build/tune their machines?

I've got to agree with Doug here but I think there may be a misunderstanding in reference to the term "technical." I think it was used in reference to hardware - not software. With that point made, let me ask you a question. How many businesses use Windows DC's (that's Domain Controllers for all you Mac-ites)? I don't know the percentage but I would bet my -a- that it's SIGNIFICANT (over 90%?). Have you ever tried getting a Mac to connect to a DC? It's a PITA. Maybe the newest release of Snow Leopard is better, but it literally took us hours to get the first Mac in our office onto our Domain and the task was being handled by "technically savvy" Mac users.

Also, I've NEVER heard of anyone overclocking a Mac. Is it even possible? I'm sure it is but my point is that nearly every "technical" PC user I've ever known has accomplished a few tasks:

1. They have spec'ed out their own machine and built it from the bare basic parts
2. They have taken it all apart and troubleshooted problems with hardware when they happened (crashed drives, bad RAM, bad PS - whatever)
3. They have overclocked their machine (and probably broken something in the process - see #2)
4. They have a working understanding of DOS (the command prompt)
5. They have setup a Windows server in their home
6. They have hosted their own FTP site or web server
7. They have installed Linux and actually used it for more than porn surfing
8. Most all of them have a working knowledge of at least 1 programming language (kind of a moot point, but technical people usually excel in this area and pursue knowledge to make things work the way THEY WANT them to work - not the way they're TOLD they SHOULD WORK)

These are all strictly my opinions - more about PC users than Mac users. Most of the Mac users that I know are technically minded, but then again we work in an industry that requires it. I don't have any friends outside of my work-friends that own a Mac in their home. With all that said, I think most Mac and PC users are morons when it comes to the "technical" side of computing.

zOMG!!!

The new Droid X is about to come out. How about 720p recording on a cell phone.

Apple User: Apple doesn't put all their eggs in the first basket, that way they have new stuff to release
Android User: We filled up our first basket, and went to get another ;)

New Features
iPhone 4 - Finally has LED Flash, its thin
Droid X - HD camera (720p recording), 8mp camera, 1GHz proc, 4.3" screen

I bet there are some users on XRU with laptops that have processors that are barely faster... 1.8GHz procs anybody?

The new Droid X is a bit larger. To some people they want smaller.. thinner, must not be used to big things in those front pockets. ;) lol (just messing apple guys)

Iphone 4 also shoots 720p videos at 30fps

I've got the Evo as well, and I feel you on the battery life. It's a very powerful device though and I really think it's on par with the iPhone for the most part. Better rear camera, same basic front camera, BUT we can use Skype to video chat with ours on 3g even, not just iPhone to iPhone on wi-fi. Bigger screen, and the ability to really customize it down to new complete ROMs. I love having a Linux based system that is open-source for the most part so that developers can do practically anything with it.

Just for reference here's a few good sites with tips on the battery for the Evo. Helped me out a lot on mine. Some of the info is repeated, but there's some differences as well.

Next to these things there are the different ROMs like I was saying earlier that can help with battery life as well. You can even set up the wi-fi tethering without paying the extra $30 after rooting the phone. Bite it iPhone! Haha!

Oh, and for those that don't know what ROMs are, basically they are like different versions of the operating system. It's like Ubuntu for Linux, Linux is the main system, but Ubuntu is a certain build of that system.

You dont have to root the phone to teather, download PDA Net

I hate the name ROM (lol - its firmware on a low level device, or in the linux world 'flavors'/distributions/OSs).

I think the tethering feature on the evo is really selling me. My friend/co-worker got the evo 4g this week so I got the chance to play with it. Really digging the OS on it and the features.

Except your still on crappy AT&T, and AT&T doesnt want teathering and has kept their data service.
First and foremost --- it's "tethering":top:

Where I live, my AT&T service is great. It's better then Sprint ever was. I never had Verizon so I can't say anything about that, but as of right now I have no big complaints about AT&T.

And FYI, AT&T DOES offer tethering. When I went to pre-order my iPhone 4, it costs $15.00 more a month for unlimited tethering. I opted not to pay for that because I'm rarely ever in a place without signal or 3G. I have the ability to work from home if need be, but I'm never out in BFE where I need to all the sudden check my Facebook:rolleyez:.

Whammm...hit you over the head and made you bleed again (inside joke BTW)

Glad to hear that AT&T service is better then Spring (GOT IT BEFORE THE EDIT!!!).

Im not paying for TETHERING; f that.

There is still a rediculous cap on your bandwidth.

AT&T couldn't give me an air card for free.

I LOL'd!!!!

N00b obviously doesn't know the difference between CMOS, ASIC, and SoC based CPU architecture.

Who the F compares a ASIC CPU with a mainstream PC CPU; totally different.

Are you sure you don't own a MAC jason?
